Inspired by Klimt, I was playing around with paint and metallics and this is the result. Unlike Klimt there’s no portrait, but I like the juxtaposition of softly blended colors and the flat gold.
I love when I can makes something personal at Christmastime.
This year I painted some throw pillows inspired by my nieces’ personalities and interests and I hope they enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them!
Thirty Three years ago Jim Hennig originated Huntley’s Turkey Testicle Festival at his bar the Parkside Pub. Although Parkside’s new owners continue the tradition, Jim hosts his original Turkey Testicle festival at Clasen’s, the Tavern he bought and renovated in Union IL.
I updated the specials board with this years info and the event was, once again, a great time!
On the road again, this time to Music City! Long days were rewarded with great Bar-B-Que, great music and a beautiful model home at the end with a lot of laughs along the way.
So I was booked to travel to New Jersey to paint a mural of Yankee stadium for my friends at Laura O’Connor design. The departure date had been in flux and finally landed on the same exact day as the Chicago Marathon. Normally I would be only vaguely aware that the Chicago marathon was even happening, but this year the date was blocked out on my calendar. I had been training all summer and raising funds for World Vision to run in my very first marathon and I could not miss it! Luckily I was able to complete the painting in my studio and send the wallpaper mural to be installed in the model home and we all lived happily ever after!
My friends at Clasen’s Tavern asked me to help them out with their specials board and keep it updated with all of their great events. Check them out, they have great food, live entertainment and sweet back yard.
More road tripping, this time in Mantua Ohio. I used a few different fonts on the walls and on some pillows and did some chevron to customize this model. I love seeing new places with old friends
