One of those days…
Did you ever have one of those days? The kind when the universe appears to be conspiring to give you a lesson in patience? Had one today.
Sundays are not my favorite day to work, but sometimes it just can’t be avoided. A scheduling snafu with the floor finishers meant I had to leave the model home before I could complete my work on Saturday and return on Sunday to finish a Soccer mural. OK, I can do that. Cut to map quest sending me on a wild goose chase and, once at the site, a ride on the struggle bus trying to get the drawing correct. (Most likely due to poly fumes from freshly finished floors.) But I carried on and fought my way through! Tired and happy to be done, I begin to drag all of my equipment down the stairs to load up my car. As I exit the home, I notice that the opening in the chain link fence surrounding the development where I entered in the morning has disappeared and has been pad locked shut. Yes, I am locked IN and the only way out is over. Try as I might, I couldn’t see how I was going to get my 40lb. 3 tiered tool box on rollers and my 6′ ladder over that 6′ fence. A trek through the dirt and gravel of the construction site turned up no alternate exit and so I was forced to abandon my gear and make the treacherous climb over the wobbliest chain link fence I have ever encountered. I am sure it was quite a sight that will, given my luck today, wind up on youtube.
Ready and waiting for my 15 minutes of fame 😀
